As séries da Netflix são conhecidas pela sua apresentação gráfica de violência e nudez. Mas em Lost in space, a produção aposta claramente no seguro, com o objectivo de atingir um público novo e mais jovem com uma formula mais amiga das famílias. E isto não é necessariamente ruim, longe disso e honestamente esta série não sofre por isso, os momentos de drama, aventura e ação são bem conseguidos. Das paisagens sumptuosas, efeitos CGI hiper-realistas, à decoração e ao design geral da série, os custos não foram poupados para dar vida a este universo. Os atores não poderiam ter sido melhor escolhidos, os Robinsons têm uma excelente química uns com os outros. A dinâmica familiar foi actualizada para os nossos tempos, sendo mais conflituosa e realista. Aliás, a premissa da série assenta na preservação de uma família com problemas num mundo mergulhado no caos. Arriving with a British expedition in Virginia in 1607, Capt. John Smith (Colin Farrell) is captured by Native Americans. His life is spared thanks to Pocahontas (Q'orianka Kilcher), daughter of the tribe's chief. Smith and Pocahontas fall in love, to the mutual dismay of the Native Americans and the British. Smith is sent away, and his death is reported. An unhappy Pocahontas marries settler John Rolfe (Christian Bale). When Smith turns up alive, Pocahontas is torn between the two men.
